http://www.texasramps.org/ All over the state of Texas ramp building teams will be out in force this week doing what they do best: building ramps for elderly and disabled people who cannot afford them on their own.

Join fellow secular folks for our first volunteer morning building ramps!

We need a minimum of 10-15 committed folks to make this work.

This is family friendly with the following thoughts:
~Everyone needs to be aware that we use power tools on the job. Also, people are carrying materials around and my not always be careful who is in the path of swinging materials. Everyone needs to be alert at all times.
~High school kids have done great with this in the past. We encourage volunteers to wear their FACT, SSA, or Oasis organization shirt. Otherwise we ask you where a plane shirt. We build for families of all faith and no faith, and any political party, and so political or controversial shirts should be left at home.

Final site will be announced closer to the event.

Ramp Building Volunteers:
What You Should Know VOLUNTEERS Please…
• Plan on staying until the ramp is finished. Some ramps take longer than others due to size, complexity, and amount of on-site customization. If you must leave at a certain time, please make this known at the warehouse as ramp assignments are being made. On average, ramps are finished by 2:00 PM but that is not a guarantee.

• Be prepared for safe construction work – flip flops or similar shoes are unsafe and should not be worn. We also need to have at least two adults able to use an electric drill/screwdriver and assist other volunteers.

• Bring work gloves, lunch (or snacks) and plenty of water.

By attending, I understand that FACT is not responsible for any injuries to volunteers, nor to loss of property and damage related to this event.

Parents are responsible for anyone under the age of 18.
